The epidemic in 1858 seems to have been limited to the New Orleans area.
There are recorded outbreaks of yellow fever in North Carolina, a few of
which are:
1862 - Wilmington, NC
1864 - New Bern, NC and area (The march of the destroyer : the New Bern
yellow fever epidemic of 1864 / by Thomas J. Farnham and Francis P. King.)
