my sister and I will be visiting our Aunts that live in Ohio and
recording
their memories of growing up in Jeremiah. The oldest is 80. My sister is a
transcriptionist so she will type the tapes for us. I will be happy to pass
along stories as we print them if you are interested.
If anyone is interested in oral history from the southeastern Kentucky
area you might want to visit
http://www.uky.edu/CommunityColleges/Sou/01_oral.htm. There are no
Caudill's listed, but there are a lot of interviews with people from
Letcher, Harlan and surrounding counties where Caudill's are quite plentiful.
Sharon, you might be able to submit your transcripts to the archive
when you have them completed. There is an e-mail address and phone number
listed at the bottom of the page. Have a fun and safe trip. I'll be in
the Jeremiah, KY, area next week. If I can find the time when I get back,
I may write of my experiences while I was there for the 10th anniversary
celebration of the Letcher County Historical and Genealogical Society.
