More names, dates, places would be helpful.
There are many "Caudell" branches of the family commonly from the area
around Nails Creeks and Banks, GA dating back to the early 1800's.
In total, there are at least thirteen derivative spellings of the surname.
I do have a Ruffin Garfield Caudill in my tree (b. 1881). From Wilkes
County NC.
Give us something to shoot at and we'll surprise you.
Welcome!
Lenny Caudill.

Hey, I was formally a Caudill from Southwest VA. I am totally new to
Ancestry.com but I am trying to do some research on the family. I am having
a hard time piecing together my grandfathers family. Garfield Caudill. I
am pretty sure he changed his name from Caudell to Caudill and that is
causing me a lot of problems. I'm not sure if we are from the same bunch
but you are more then welcome to check out my tree... Thanks.
