I have done some research on the Cauble name. There was an Abraham CAUBLE
of Germany whose daughter, Catharina CAUBLE married Heinrich
ROESCH/RHODT/RHOADS. Their son, Henry RHOADS was born in Germany but died
in Bedford Co. Pennsylvania. Wherever I find Henry RHOADS, I also find
CAUBLE/KEBEL/GEBEL/CABLE, etc. living nearby.
In a record of the colonial churches of Somerset Co. PA it tells of the
first settlers of Brothervalley (Brudertal)...and among the 17 people are
the families of Henry ROTH and Abraham GEBEL. Others in the group were
surnamed NEWCOMER, ASWALD, KIMMEL, WILDERBERG and MARTIN.
Ebraham KEBLE is mentioned living at Stony Creek, Brothervalley Twp,
Bedford, PA in 1773. On land and property maps of that time period the
name is more often spelled CABLE.
I have a variety of records of early CABLES of the area;...some first names
are Christian, Jacob, Jonathan, Abraham, Phillip, Michael, Benjamin, and
Solomon.
