Dear Trayna,
Very many thanks, I really had little or nothing on Elspet.
Here's what I did have -
John MASSIE and Isabel CARDNO were married on 12 Jan 1838 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.
Isabel CARDNO (daughter of Alexander CARDNO and Elspet CATTO) was born on 17 Oct 1818 in
Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. She died on 29 Oct 1861 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. Her
recorded age at death was 43.
John MASSIE and Isabel CARDNO had the following children:
i. John MASSIE was born on 20 Oct 1838 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. He died on 2 Mar
1850 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.
ii. Isabella MASSIE was born on 26 Sep 1840 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. She died on 7
Jun 1903 in Inverness.
ii. James Cardno MASSIE (born in 1843).
iv. Elspet Cardno MASSIE (born on 1 Feb 1845).
v. Anne Cardno MASSIE (born on 31 Mar 1847).
vi. Elizabeth Cardno MASSIE was born on 16 Jan 1849. She died on 2 Nov 1849.
vii. Alexander Cardno MASSIE was born on 9 Apr 1851. He died on 2 Nov 1851.
viii. John MASSIE (born in 1853).
ix. William Reid MASSIE (born on 26 Dec 1855).
x. George Alexander MASSIE (born on 15 Jan 1859).
MASSIE is my main search but naturally I look at all connecting names. I'm
researching for a close friend and neighbour who is the Grandaughter of William Reid
Massie.
PITTENDREIGH (also PITTENDRIGH) & CARDNO names occur a number of times and Cardno is
used as a middle name quite frequently.
I spent over 4 hours in Kirkton Cemetery last week taking pics of stones.
Are you 'related'? I'm always 'cousin hunting' lol.
You've been of tremendous help,
Thanks,
James.
