I am interested in the Catt family, as I am a Catt. I have been trying to
find connections for quite a while, with minimal success.
According to the information I have, my gr-grandfather, Henry Catt, had a
brother named John. This john was the son of William Catt and Fanny
Meekcomes. John came in about 1834, and was baptized in Farnborough Kent.
However, the family appears to be all over the southern part of England.
My gr-grandfather, Henry, married Susan meekcomes and they had 4 children.
My grandpa's name is Sidney herbert and he was born in Surrey (Southwark) in
1877.
I hope you can connect the pieces of this jigsaw. I live in Victoria, B.C.
Canada by the way.
Lianne Hunter (nee Catt)

I have a marriage entry for Ellen Catt , 21, spinster, living at 2 Thomas
Street,
whose father was John Catt, Merchant Clerk to a Samuel Robinson
Youngman 10 Apr 1853 at the Parish church Stepney. The 1861 census states
that she was born in Surrey. However, I have been unable to find her in the
1851 or 1841 censuses. Can anyone help? It looks like she died in the March
1/4 1871.
