I finally got the Catt/Mohr article down to 20 pages. It'll be printed in "The
Palatine Immigrant" the journal of The Palatines to America Genealogical Society. It
is a great Genealogical Society and has tremendous speakers at their annual meetings. I
have learned so much that has helped me in my work in German church records and finding
background material to undertand better my ancestry in Germanay and in the early days in
this country. There is probably 60 pages of actual docuiments and the transliteration to
modern English, but these will not appear in the article. I do not know when it will
appear as I have to re-enter into Word on IBM compatible. It is currently in Word Perfect
I, Apple IIc.
Once I get my German trip over and get the two volumes about the Katz and their
neighbors and relatives in Hochdorf finished, I probably will try to find more about the
Mohrs in Germany. I have a village where our Mohrs most likely orginated. It comes from
Hank Jones' work on locating immigrant villages of the 1709ers. He now has 5 volumes
on the Palatines. I would urge any serious researcher that has German ancestry to join
the The Palatines to America Genealogical Society and to attend their annual conferences.
Enough.
