Hello all the Catt cousins out there. Kitts, Cates, Kates, Cotts, and back to Katz.
Surely, there are some new discoveries that need to be shared. Or, there should be some
questions that need to be discussed.
One thing I'd like to see is concentrated research when anyone has a chance on
Revolutionary Records on any Catt. For instance, I know there is an enlistment record
that has George Catts date of enlistment and age upon enlistment. I have it in my book.
Yet, when I tried to use the footnote, it was not the book. I found it in a book in the
Miami, Florida, Public Library, downtown Miami, back about 1986. Surely, someone reading
this lives in Miami. Many of you visit libraries. Check the area where books on
Revolutionary War material is kept. The book I refer to has an index and George Catt is
in the index. I would like to see a lot of real authoritative, documented material on
each man. I know one of the cousins is working on Michael Catt's record.
With the discovery of George Rogers Clarks 20 plus boxes of vouchers, etc. from the
Rev. War, the Virginia Archives certainly has lots more on the men who fought with him. I
believe we will find all found, Michael, John, Philip, and George were with him at one
time or another.
