I have an interesting Andrew Caton record that I would like to know if
anyone can add to:
Oct. 1870: Andrew Caton sentenced to 2 years for bigamy from Clark Co. Ohio.
Discharged Aug. 2, 1872; age 36, born New York, a traveler; 2nd wife,
Dora, Columbus, Ohio; 1st wife Ellen (don't want to see her); father
William T. Caton, Conquest, Cayuga Co., NY; 1 brother, 3 sisters. (Ohio
Penitentiary Register, #6, p. 181)

Subject: [CATON] CATONS in New York
I was recently tracking down my mother's Caton family in NY and
found two
Caton families. Heads of households were Andrew and Aaron. Aaron is the
first Caton in the NY census I could find--1855. Andrew is my great-great
grandfather. I was wondering if anyone has these Catons in their own
records. I'm interested in knowing if Andrew and Aaron were related, if so
how, who Andrew's parents might be, and what other state the might have
came from.
Clarendon, NY Orleans County 1865 Census
Andrew M. 31 M Steuben Farmer
Priscilla (Salisbury) 30 Wife Orleans
Harriet 9 Daughter Orleans
Marnie 6 Daughter Orleans
Charles 4 Son Orleans (my great grandfather)
William 1Son Orleans
Seneca, NY Ontario County 1860 Census
Caton, Aaron Seneca
Caton, Charles A. Seneca
Caton, Eliza Seneca
Caton, George Seneca
Caton, Mary M. Seneca
Caton, Phebe E. Seneca
Aaron Caton apparently died in Seneca in 1876
Also, I would even be interested in knowing if any of these first names
show up in anyone else's family trees.
Rosemary
