Do you have any idea whereabouts in Ireland he came from please.
CATON/KATON was a very rare name indeed in Ireland, it is non-existent there
now.mMy gt gt grandfather was Timothy CATON born Co Cork in appx 1821. I do
not where and have no way of finding him at the moment with so little to go
on.
I have looked at the partial 1821 census for INCHIGEELA, County Cork and
there is a family of Catons there. They were in the townland of
Gortsmoorane.
They were
Cornelius Caton aged 29
Timothy Caton ( brother) aged 26
Denis Caton ( brother) aged 25
John Caton ( brother) aged 24
Mary Caton ( sister) aged 40
Honora Caton ( second Cousin) age unknown

Petition), and died 29 Aug 1913 (Cuyahoga Co Adm) in Cleveland, OH. He
married abt. 1870, Grace ---, born June 1851 in Ireland, died betw 1928
and 1932 in Ohio. Their children (1880, 1900 census) were Margaret (m
ANDERSON), Sarah/Sadie (m TULLY), Mary (m TURNBULL), Katherine, Eliza,
Michael, Patrick, and Hugh A.
