Subject: Virus Alert!!!!
im sorry to all who this is going out to we had no idea and since you are in out adress
book you will mostl ikely have this on your computer
Dear Friends:
I got this from a friend and low and behold it was on my computer. The steps are
really easy and it is gone when you empty your recycle bin
We received this e-mail and are passing it along to you.
Our address book has been infected with a virus, and as a result, so has yours because
your address was in our book. The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe. It cannot be detected
apparently by Norton or McAffee anti-virus programs I am told and as we have Norton and it
sure got past them. It sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent
automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you send emails.
To get rid of it......
1) Go to Start then Find or Search
2) In Files/ Folders write the name jdbgmgr.exe
3) Be sure to search in the "C" drive
4) Click Find or Search
5) The virus has a teddy bear logo with the name jdbgmgr. exe
DO NOT OPEN
6) Right click and delete it
7) Go to the recycle bin and delete it there also.
IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK. Sorry to
be the bearer of bad news but, it was very easy to get rid of.
