Greetings from NZ,
I am making enquiries on behalf of a fellow genealogist, who is tracing
his CATON family. We are trying to find one John CATON born in the
1860's in Yorkshire. Family lore has it that he was the illigitimate
son of a family of CATONs in Lancaster. His mother was sent away in
disgrace to Yorkshire. We do not know her maiden name except that it
wasn't CATON. John had a large family, one of whom - David, was born at
North Ormseby in 1903. So it may be that this is the place we want for
John and his disgraced mother. Any help would be marvellous as too,
would any advice and directions.
TIA,
Paddy Taylor.
