A thought about Adruain's request for information on the Wayne
Co.,
Mo. Cato's. He says that they came from Christian Co., Ky. Some
definitely did come from Christian Co. but I don't think they all did.
Some came from Mississippi and some came from S.C. I believe, but I
think they knew they were kin, surely most or all having roots in S.C.
Henry,
Could you please clarify the above statement? Since this is my own line
(Needham), I'd really be interested in what you might know on this that
I don't. I've always assumed they came, as a group from SC (or at least
within a year or so of each other).
These are the ones Adruain listed:
Lewis or Louis
Sterling
Henry
Needham or Needom
Richard
Tabitha Cato who married Francis Ladd
I'm showing them all in Christian Co., Kentucky early on.
On Needham, we're showing as being in the War of 1812 (along with the
mysterious Cullen Cato!). Needham was also the security/witness or
guardian of the Tabitha Cato who m. Francis Ladd there.
Lewis/Louis is shown as signing a tavern license for wasn't it ?Richard?
(I just realized I don't have this up on the page yet - I'm still trying
to get it all caught up & need to double check - it might have been
Henry.) Lewis/Louis was also the security or a witness for a marriage
there. Sterling & Henry were both on the census, in addition to other
