Need help on the Mo. Cato line. Between 1818-1823 Five boys and one girl
from
the Christian Co. Ky. line migrated to Mo. They were as follows:
Lewis or Louis
Sterling
Henry
Needham or Needom
Richard
Tabitha Cato who married Francis Ladd
They landed in Wayne Co. Mo. in a small settlement named Greenbriar, Mo.
The Cato cemetary is located on this property with many marked and unmarked
graves. Lewis has a marker there dated 1786-1839
As you well know the early census only listed age groups and no names. By
the
time Heads of families were listed the 2nd gen. Mo. Cato's were out of the
household
from the 1st gen Cato so we can't link who belonged to whom?
To complicate the matter the Wayne Co. Court house burned, then Bollinger
Co
spun off of Wayne Co. and the Bollinger Co. court house burned twice. Then
the
State capitol burned around 1900 so it becomes very tough to collect good
data.
Any help on this data would be greatly appreciated. Some of the Ark. Cato
came
from this bunch we are quite sure.
