Thank you for for response, l guess I am totally confussed. I just got
back from Christain Co KY. I still don't know her last name but have been
told by several her first name is Elizabeth. I t was suggested that she
was proberly the daughter of Wiley Cato. In 1850 Elizabeth would of been
around 73. There is a Wiley C. Cato listed in the 1840 census as having
one daughter 10-16 and one 16-26 also a son 26-45. But this Wiley would
of been too young to be her father. I had thought earlier that maybe he
had married a younger lady., but I guess not. Maybe Wiley is her brother?
Thanks so much for your help. I will look further into Nathan Cato.
Glinda

Dear Glinda,
I am under the impression that Wiley C. Cato had no children. The
1840 census show no children and his estate records do not indicate
any. Here is what I have on him. M.D. Cato, M.A. Cato and W.H. Cato
were brothers and C. H. Cato was an uncle I think but some think he
was also a brother.
Henry Brackin
WILEY C. CATO, b. 1/18/1802 (in Tenn. according to the 1850 census),
d. 12/21/1850 in Christian Co., Ky., m. in Christian Co., Ky.
12/21/1832 to Mary A. McCord. He is buried in the
Hawkins Cemetery in northern Christian Co., Ky. with a marker. He had
no children. His father
Nathan was living with him in the 1850 census. They bought a lot of
land together. Claiborne H.
Cato acted as the administrator of his estate. His wife Mary A. Reese,
formerly Mary A. Cato,
and Nathan Cato were named as heirs and distributees. M.D. Cato
received $74 on order of
Nathan Cato. M.A. Cato, C. H. Cato received checks "on Act". Checks
were issued to Mary A.
Reese, W.H. Cato, M.D. Cato, Miles Cato. Thos. A. Reese was listed as
husband of Mary A.
Cato. The settlement was dated 4/13/1853.
