Henry Cato married Polly Ladd 1-18-1810.
I think that this is the youngest son of Henry and Tabitha
Cato. then Tibitha Cato Married Francis Ladd in 1811, I think
this is a younger sister of the above Henry and youngest daughter
of Henry and Tabitha Cato. After Henry and died I believe Henry
and Polly, Tabitha and Francis Ladd went to Wayne Co. Mo. and
joined Lewis, Richard, Needham, and Sterling who had already
settled there. Unfortunately the Wayne Co court house has burned
twice, Bollinger Co spun off of Wayne and that court house burned
twice. To add insult to injury the State Capitol also burned so information
in Mo. gets pretty scarce.
Then along came the Civil War and with the majority of the Cato's
being slaveholders the Civil War took its toll on them.
On Feb. 3/4 1862 the Union army rode into Simeon Cato's house
and massacred 29, after this the family went from around 15-16 households
inthe 1860 census to 4 in the 1870 census with some widows. The family
scattered to adjoining counties and to NorthEast Arkansas.
