On the Ferguson List...a Cato showed up in a lineage..
We have been following the activity on the list with interest,
and
are happy to have an opportunity to add our group.
Our Fergusons start with David FERGUSON: b.1814 in Roxborough,
Ayrshire, Scotland; m. Annie Belle MURRAY in 1838 at Kilmarnock,
Ayrshire.
Their children were Agnes (b. Edinburgh, Scotland, 1843),
Martha (b. Scotland, c.1846),
and Annie Belle, Mary Jane, David,
Jessie, John and John Daniel, all born in Upper Canada (later Ontario)
abt.
1850 to 1859. To our knowledge, all of the above died in Ontario,
with
the
exception of John Daniel, who may have died in Ohio in 1916. Four of
these
daughters married (to GARDINER, ROSS, BURGESS and BURGESS) and
raised
families in Ontario. Many of these lived and died around East Tilbury,
Ontario.
The last son, John Daniel FERGUSON (b. abt. 1859), married Julia
Jane Manton CATO (b. abt. 1859 in N.Y. State and d. in 1916 at Cleveland,
Ohio) in 1886 at Blenheim, Ontario.
Their children were Edith Grace, Ethel Maude, Dr.... , Clarence
Daniel, John Morton, James Edwin, Jean Manton and Annie Mae, born from
about 1887 to 1902. At least the first four were born at E. Tilbury,
Ontario.
If anyone is able to link to our FERGUSONs, we would be delighted
to
hear from you.
John and Angela BRUNDRITT,
Brisbane, Queensland.
