Honorably paroled June 9, 1865. Is incapacitated to perform manuel
labor because is near deaf & old age. Pension application dated April
22, 1922. He signed it M.T.Cater.

Proof of service provided by W.M.(X)STORY of Vinita, Craig Co., OK who
stated he had known him 65 years & that M.T.Cater was in the service
from Feb.1862-June 9, 1865. John A. TURNER, son of W.A.TURNER, Benton
Co., Ark., signed a Proof of Indigency & stated he had known M.T.Cater
45 years & that he was incapcitated by old age. He stated also that his
father was in the service with M.T.Cater. E.F.ELLIS of Washington Co.,
Ark. signed the Evidence of Physician & said that M.C.<Cater of
Joyetteville, Ark. suffered no wounds but had rheumatism in right
shoulder joint, hernia right ---, deafness in right ear. --- Extent of
disability: Almost total as he can do no manuel labor. Signed E.T.ELLIS
