Using information found in the Cato pages, I see that a Benj Cato is
mentioned as a witness to a deed of Dec 8, 1807 from William Cato and Nancy
Cato???? Also, deeds naming Benjamin, Jesse and Ben, Jr., along with
Joseph and than later Benj. wife, Mary. Now the hard part, where was
Benjamin born and was he, indeed the son of William? Which William? Cato or
Cater?
Other records mention a Benjamin, born c. 1777 in N.C. ? as son of William
Cater who buys land in the same area, MCTears( McTees) Creek. Are there two
Benjamins in the same area at the same time?
Who was the father of the N.C. Benjamin born in 1777 and who was his
spouse?
The area you mentioned in your last correspondence is all so close,
10 - 30 miles, how would they keep up with relatives???? To all you Catos
that are researching and contributing to the Pages, my heart felt thanks.
