Hi All,
The records below, from the Southern Christian Advocate, refer to the family of Phillip
W. Cato, grandson of William Cato of Fairfield Co SC and his wife Susan Eccles. Phillip
W. was, I think, son of Phillip W. Cato (also a doctor). Thought it might be of interest
to someone researching this family.
Does anyone know of an estate settlement or will for the father, Phillip W. Cato Senior?
He appears to have died between 1840 and 1850, probably in Autauga County, Alabama, but I
am not sure about that. Does anyone know where he is buried? Or whether his wife can be
found in 1850? I haven't been able to locate her, and do not know her name.
Last I have of PW Cato Senior is this census listing:
1840 ALA Autauga County
CATO, Phillip W. Snr.
1 male 50-60
1 female 30-40
4 females 10-15
2 females 5-10
2 females under 5
P. W. CATO (Jnr) age 20-30 with a female 20-30 and 1 female under 5 is nearby.
