The census for 1840 Conway County, Arkansas shows three Wiley families clustered near
Isaac Tompkins. In the 1850 census for Prairie County, Arkansas shows Tompkins children
living in a Wiley household. And then in 1860 Wiley/Wylie Tompkins was reported living in
a Brannon household. The Brannons also apparently had a close relationship with Wileys and
with Catos.
I have read that both Sina, wife of Cornelius Wiley, and Susan, widow, were Catos. But how
do the Brannons and the Tompkins children relate to the Catos?
Can anyone explain these family relationships?
