Did this John by any chance have a son named Robert? He (Robert) was born
in 1862 in Arkansas. I can't find his parents in my research anywhere. His
middle initial was apparently "B." He married Alice Mary Manahan from
Ireland, and lived in Nebraska, but was born in Arkansas. For some reason,
the family thought he was born in Memphis Tennessee, but a census record
shows that he was born in Arkansas. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
H. Cato

Message Board Post:
I am looking for someone willing to photo copy or scan the letters John H
CATO
(born 1824 TN, died 1865 IL) wrote to his family during the Civil War
from Alton prison in IL. Also if someone has a good copy of the photo of
John, I would love that. I will gladly and generously pay for your time and
expenses. John married Jane Elizabeth WILLEY / WILEY 1851 in Fayetteville,
Washington Co AR. In April 1852 they purchased a house on 117 South East
Street in Fayetteville that was excavated a few years ago. It was located
behind the stores on the south side of the square, with a blacksmith's shop
and wagon yard close by. The Fayetteville Town Center now stands on the
site. My daughter is doing her Master's thesis on the house and has a
deadline coming up. I am hoping to be able to help her with this.
Help please???
