Catoe, 62, died Sunday.
Mr. Catoe was born in Lancaster County, a son of the late
Yancey Ward and Lula Sistare Catoe. He was a retired contractor and a member of Oak Ridge
Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon, Sunday School teacher and Training Union
director.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Eva Maude Funderburk Catoe; three daughers, Mrs. Mickey
(Jinx) Carnes of Waxhaw, Mrs. Harvey (Judy) Carnes and Mrs. Roger (Joyce) Lloyd, both of
Lancaster; six brothers, Boyce Catoe of Monroe, Amos Catoe of Columbia, Yancey Catoe of
Pageland and Billy, Bobby, and Roy Charles Catoe, all of Lancaster; four sisters, Mrs.
Ernest (Lillian) Galloway and Mrs. Bill (Margaret) Saleeby, both of Hartsville, Mrs.
Julius (Mary) Lloyd of Lancaster and Mrs. Elsie Clark of Florence; and seven
grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from Oak Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Carl
Hunter, the Reb. Bobby Wallace and the Rev. Ray Gardner, with burial in Lancaster Memorial
Park.
