Thanks Tom, will be interested to hear if you find anything more. I think you are right
about the Breckenridge Club being related to John C. Breckenridge. Never heard of him
before now.... he certainly had an interesting life.
Tom, has there ever been anything found regarding an estate of Sterling G. Cato?

I'm not sure about what the Breckenridge Club was , but think it was
probably a pro southern democratic club that supported John C. Breckenridge in the
1860 presidential election. This would have been right in line with
Sterling G. Cato. Sterling and his younger brother Lewis L. Cato were both active
members of the Eufaula Regency, a pro secessionist Democratic political
machine that was allied with William L. Yancey.
