CATO .... Do you have, or do you know, someone who has information on
the ancestors, descendents, siblings, marriage connections, etc. of any
of the persons in the following Cato line? George CATO b. Abt 1794 in
Sunter Co., S. C. and d. Wilkinson Co. GA. His son William C. CATO, my
grear-great grandfather, b. August 12, 1816 in Wilkinson Co., Ga. lived
a short time in Muscogee Co., Ga. and then moved to Heard Co., Ga. where
he raised eighteen children and died August 15, 1889. He is buried in
Westley Chapel Cemetery in Enon Grove area of Heard County. His children
were (1) Thomas C. CATO b. 1838 and d. July 24, 1864 in Richmond Va.,
C.W. (2)Melissa CATO b. 1840, d. June 24, 1905 in Troup Co. Ga. (3)
James A. Cato b. 1841, d. December 4, 1861 in Richmond, Va., C.W. (4)
William Franklin CATO b. May 1842. His son was Jackson L. CATO.
(5)Francis CATO b. 1843. (6)Lerena A. E. CATO b. 1844. (7) Jesse Cato b.
1845. (8)Elizabeth CATO b. 1847. (9)Jeremiah "Jerry" Johnson Cato b. May
30, 1850 in Heard County and died in Calhoun Co., Ala. January 8, 1940.
