Bonnie,
I want to put to you the following censuses for your comment
1820 census Christian Co., Ky.
William Cato 100100-10100
1830 census of Christian Co., Ky.
Wiat Cato 20011-0001
1840 census of Van Buren Co., Ark.
William Cato 000201-100001
What do you think of these three census records being the same man, a
son of Sterling found in his home as 0-10 in the 1810 census. I think
he had married in 1820 but I suspect that the boy and girl were
younger siblings, not his children, for 2 reasons. 1) He and his wife
are probably too young to have those two children and 2) the 1830
census shows us that the girl and the boy were born 1810-15. The wife
must have died as she would have been 26-36 years in 1830. However it
appears that 2 young boys were born by them between 1820 and 1830.
Then in the 1840 census we find that the boy and girl born 1810-15
are gone and William has married again a women who was born like he
between 1800-1810 and by her he has a daughter born 1835-40. By
combining the census records, he was born 1800-1804. In 1840 the 2
boys born 1820-1830 are in his home as born 1820-1825. So it would
seem possible that the William Cato in Van Buren Co., Ark. was
William Wiat Cato.
I have no wish list at the moment. I do think you should pursue the
Elizabeth Cato's and the Henry Caytor who married the Wyche. I have
got to find the information on that marriage and family. My filing
system is so poor that I have not been guickly able lay my hands on
it but I have memory that when it was posted that I could not see how
might fit.
