I *REALLY* think we should look more closely at Henry CAYTOR who m.
Elizabeth WYCHE. The WYCHE genealogy is as follows (abbreviated):
Henry WYCHE (generation I), d. 1714 in Surry Co., VA. Of children, 2
sons were Henry & George.
Henry (Generation II) moves to Brunswick Co. & is apparently close to
the CATO/CATER family there as seen by wills, deeds, etc.
George (also Generation II) dies 1753 & leaves his son Peter land he
owned on *Fountains Creek*. George WYCHE also signed the approval on
the estate of Sam'l CLARK, Jane COOKE's grandfather (the same will that
John CATER witnessed) so it would seem that George lived in Brunswick
Co. for some time by brother Henry & on Fountains Creek.
George's son Benjamin (generation III) d. before 1769 & his widow,
Elizabeth PEETE-WYCHE, is the one who married Henry CAYTOR in 1775. At
this time she had young children still living at home as shown by their
dates of birth, the oldest child b. 1759 & the rest in the 1760s.
