Does anyone recognize this William? I wonder if he claimed this land?

1824
Know ye that William Catoe a Private of Captain H.H. Higgins Company 13th Regiment of
Infantry who was enlisted to serve during the War with Mexico is hereby honorably
discharged from the Army of the United States this 15th day of July 1848 at Mobile Alabama
by reason of the expiration of his term of service.
Said William Catoe was born in Kershaw District in the State of South Carolina is 24 years
of age 5 feet 4 1/2 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, sandy hair and by occupation
when enlisted a farmer.
Given at Mobile, Alabama this 15th day of July 1848.
