Cullen Cato was listed in the 7th Regt. in the War of 1812 in KY. In an
attempt to try to determine if he were with the SC>KY>MO bunch or from
another line, I asked the people on KY-Roots to help me. The following
copied e-mail is one of several replies I've recieved back from them,
all saying about the same thing, that the Regts. in question were from
Madisonville &/or Fayette. Co., KY in the mideastern part of Kentucky
(Where the cities of Lexington & Richmond, Ky are on the current maps).
Dr. Henry Bracken has ordered in the record on Cullen Cato, also in an
attempt to verify his place of residence, but for now, I'm going to
assume that he wasn't one of the MO Cato family.
Since I feel Cullen was from the Francis Cato line (b. prob. 1770-75),
this at least should possibly eliminate one line for the elusive Francis
(probably not with Henry Cato's line!) & this puts us back to still
trying to determine how he was related to the others in GA.

(P.S. I did take this gentleman up on his offer to help, but haven't
heard back from him yet!)

Hi Bonnie,
Lientenant Colonel, William Russell, was in command of the 10th
Regiment.
The 10th Regiment was Fayette County. The 7th Regiment was Madison
County. These were Militia Regiments. When these regiments went on
campaigns they were sometimes combined.
Who is the soldier you are looking for? I may be able to help.

or
counties in Kentucky had men in this Regiment?
Thanks in advance!
