I've been wondering about the name Green throughout the family. Has anyone
looked into or come across any Green families in Va. especially around
Brunswick Co.? With this many people in a family named Green it just seems
logical. Also, Lockett Mitchell, father of Martha Mitchell Swinney Cato, had
a son named Green. Lockett was an under sheriff in Brunswick Co. as I recall
and had another daughter who was married to a Brewer. Is this a topic that has
already been discussed before I found this site or is there another origin for
the name?
Judy, Henry and I were discussing the Henry Cato who said his father was a
Catawba Indian and his mother was a Mustein on his pension application. We
were trying to figure out what a Mustein was and I noticed on the family page
chart that this is the Henry at the end of the chart. Was this a family
someone submitted? If so maybe they would know what or who a Mustein was.
Also, now for the mushy part, I just wanted to say what a pleasure it is to be
connected with such a well organized, professional working group. I am
subscibed on another family website and what a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their
approach is to post a given name such as John or Robert, etc. and then
everybody starts posting everybody and his brother with that given name that
they can come up with. A lot without dates or locations. Sort of the shotgun
approach to genealogy. Talk about a lot of junk mail. You've got
MAILLLLLLLLLLLLLL! Anyway, that's it for the mushy stuff. I wouldn"t want you
to think I was some kind of sensitive 90's kind of guy.
