Henry, I am puzzled also. Surely there aren't two Wyche Catos. You notice one entry
is a Company Muster Roll and one is a Company Pay Roll. Commencement of service for both
entries is the same, April 18, 1814. Am going to check for Bounty Land for Wyche, if it
exists perhaps that can clear this up.
I think these immigration records Peggy Reeves is going to post may raise some interesting
questions, don't you? I never have been happy with the supposed link between the
later George Catour and that John and Joanne Gator/Cator who arrived on the Assurance de
Lo.

I have not noticed this Burwell Cates and he may very well be Burwell Cato
but this will need a followup perhaps with a search of any land he may have
received after the War since there were Cate and Cates families living in the
area. There was a Burwell Cato in the area also.
Wyche Cato service record was new to me. I am puzzled by the evidence of his
being in two different Companies at the same time.
