Dr. Henry,
That is what I thought of re: Rhonds Cato, but in my notes I have pretty
conclusively that Rhoda Cato m Wilkes Caston in SC. This info is from the
Caston Bible. Of course, this is Rhoda and not Rhonds, but that may be a
simple misspelling of the name.
I am convinced that somewhere in this Brewer, Horton, Massey, Peebles mess
is a clue to who Tabitha is. One day, maybe we will find it! I want to go
to Camden SC. Also, last time I was in SC I heard of some account books
for storeowners that might give us a clue. The one they could find for me
at the archives was fascinating: had all sorts of info like 'John Belk ,
John Sr's son, purchased whiskey for his own personal use.' Wouldn't it be
great to find something like this for our Catos! As far as I can find,
though, they did not shop at the same store as all the other people who
lived around them. Just our luck.
Re: Henry Cato going to KY. Is it possible that the two Henry's are really
the son and grandson of Henry and Tabitha? Maybe the ages are not right.
I just it hard to believe that old Henry went to KY, though I am sure that
these are his children who did. Just a thought, don't know how we can
ever prove it, I'll keep looking.
