Does anyone know anything about William Cato of Wilkes Co. Ga during the
early 1800's. He had a son named Christopher.

Tim,
I am presently thinking that the William of Wilkes Co., Ga. was a son of the
William Cato who married Amanda ? Lockett, and was a Rev. War soldier in Ga.
who fought at the seige of Savannah in 1779 and applied for land in 1784 in
Washington Co., Ga. I am guessing that he was the William Cato who sold his
father's land (an older William Cato was the father) in Northampton Vo., Va.
in 1772. Do you have any opinion on this material thusfar?
I think William of Wilkes Co., Ga. married m. Lucy Ivey, daughter of Allama
and Winney Ivey and had the following children:.
ALLAMA CATO, b. 1804-10
MARY CATO, b. 1804-10
son, b. 1804-10
CHARLES CATO, b. 1810-20
LUCY CATO, b. 1810-20
CHRISTOPHER CATO, b. 1810-20
WILLIAM CATO, b. 1810-20
