Private Joshua Catlow, of the East Lancashire Regiment, died on December 1st, of wounds
received in action the same day. He lived with his grandmother Mrs. Catlow, of 29, New
Wellington-street, Mill HIll. In civil life he was the manager of the grocery department
of the Grimshaw Park Co-operative Society, in whose employ he had been since he was 15
years of age. He was 26 years of age. He joined the Army in May, 1916, and went to
France the following August. Invalided home he went to France a second time in November,
1917. His name is on the Roll of Honour for St. Luke's Church. Two of his brothers
are on active service.
