Thanks again for replying - your photo of Luther and his male descendants going to vote
made it into the New York Times of 1884. It seems he was the oldest voter in Pa. and
wanted everyone to know it. Just Google Luther Catlin and you'll see the Times article
under "Four Generations". Luther was a direct descendant of Thomas, so I'm
not sure how your grandfather, whose own ancestors came from England much more recently,
came to have this little packet on Thomas. Maybe someone thought they were related?
There are two typeset booklets about the Catlins, starting with Thomas, but they are much
longer than 9 pages. One is by Louise Roloson, the other by Spencer Reynolds. You must
have yet a third "homemade" genealogy. I don't need to know any more about
Benjamin and Samuel - they had 8 and 6 sons respectively, and thus there are many Catlins
today. If you spot an author in your booklet, let me know, and enjoy reading the NYTimes
article!
