Re-submission in plain text!
I did have an e-mail address for John though I am going back
into the '90's for this and rather think it was a temporary
address whilst he was on a course in Wellington. If I can
locate I will see if it is still live.
The following is a brief outline of his line tracing back to
the 'Limber' Catleys from I too descend.
Important question - is John's book still in print?
If not can relevant details of same be posted to the list re
possible 'book search' for a copy on the net.

into doing an author search of Catley. The search threw up
an
entry for John Catley titled "Jean Scott McIsaac and Dixon
Catley - A
family history" 1984. Is this the John Catley there have
been a few emails
about ??
Regardless of the answer to this, going by my scribblings
on a
scrap of
paper, Dixon Catley is descended from family living in a
"cluster of
villages on the north Lincoln Wold - Broughton and
Nettleton". He arrived
In NZ at Port Chambers (Dunedin) on 24/5/1874. Later he
moved to Blenheim
(top of the South Island) The earliest names John has listed
are William
Catley and Elizabeth Ranns m 13/5/1771, Great Limber,
Lincolnshire. I think
John Catley was born in 1953. The booklet has lots of family
members listed
as well as photos. One of these people is Has(well) Catley a
famous All
Black. There is a contact address in the document for John
Catley but its
doesn't tie up with anything listed in the local phone book.

Just in passing - I first had contact with a 'John Catley'
of Wellington
in
1996.
This John together with John Catley of Telford, ENG
('Frederick John Catley)
and myself all have the same Catley origins in Lincs.
