MUMBY/CATLEY Search
What a Great Service for those of us who are having trouble finding
relatives that are 'alive' in some other part of the world. I'm trying to
find relatives of Charles CATLEY & Emma (MUMBY) CATLEY.
Emma was born to George & Elizabeth MUMBY on October 30, 1859 in
Willoughton, England. Charles CATLEY was born in 1863 in Willoughton to
John & Mary A. CATLEY. John's parents were Joseph & Mary Capes CATLEY.
Charles & Emma were married July 1, 1886 in Willoughton.
I have no information of them having children so therefore cannot trace them
from that point on. I have more information on their parents & back, but
cannot seem to track them in this direction. My Mother's maiden name was
Mumby and I would love to try and find some relatives that are living that
might be able to shed some light on our ancestors. If you need other
information, please let me know. Thank you very much.

Hello Erica et al,
Just to let you know that Liz Cordingly has started the ball rolling by
sending me her Catley tree information which I now have recorded.
I have entitled it:- Zacchaues of Newington circa 1820.
For those interested in having someone acting as a Registrar, I invite you
all to send me your Tree input but please do give it a title as well. I
will then send out a regular report which will summarise your collective
activities so that we all know who is researching who and thus just how many
Cat*ley lines are being researched.
This will only work if you all respond!
I will not "trade data", that is the perogative of the researcher, not I but
I will keep watch and cross refrence information as it comes in and if it
looks as if there are connections to be made, I will flag it up to the
persons involved.
In the next few days, I will kick start the operation by attaching my own
researches (different Pedigrees) to Liz's to make the first List available
to all and by that, I hope that you all on rootsweb will respond?
Best wishes to all Tim

Hi Everyone,
Several weeks ago Tim CATTLEY suggested that it would be useful if someone
were to act as a central registrar of CAT*LEY lines. He has now very
kindly offered to take on that role.
I have two thoughts that might further all our efforts.
Firstly, it would be helpful to all concerned if list members were to post
their research interests on this list so we could all see who "needed"
what. If you make some progress with your research, why not then tell
us
all about it. You never know you might have just found the bridge
that
allows Tim to connect your line even further back, and, if you add details
of the source, then Chris NEWALL can add the information to his database
of
CAT*LEY events.
Which brings me to my second suggestion. Chris NEWALL is continually
adding to his database at
http://www.rebus.demon.co.uk/catleydb/catleydb.htm. He welcomes new
information and, obviously, it's a good idea to check there from time to
time as it's a great place to discover folk who strayed from their
original
parishes.
Happy hunting............ Erica Hills
