How do Liz,
I know you are a busy girl and "not to be disturbed" at present but I have a
familytreedna query that only you can answer:-
If you go back to our Yorkshire tree records you will recall that we have a 3 way dna
match at Y37.
Stevan of Normanton (1609) // Robert of Garforth (1690) // Edmund of Bilton (1748)
If you look closer at our data you will see that we have the Bilton Edmund starting with
his marriage 17/07/1748 Bilton Ainstey to Ann Burton (or Burter) however you will also
notice that we have a "spare Edmund" (IGI listings) b or bt 02/03/1724 Garforth,
who's father is shown as Robert.
Furthermore, on the Robert of Garforth tree, he (Robert) we have as 1st marrying Ann
Shillito 1711 Featherstone and 6 children from John b 1712 Featherstone through to Edmund
born and died 1722 Garforth.
There is a blindingly obvious possibility here that the Edmund b Garforth in 1724 is in
fact a 7th son of Robert and Ann Shillito yet for reasons that I can now not recall
clearly, we decided to start the Edmund/Bilton tree from the 1748 marriage to Ann Burton.
Can you consult your dna results and see if the marker distance calculation computes or
not for the Bilton Edmund to be infact the 7th son of Robert of Garforth?
Did we discuss this before and if so, why did we decide to leave them as two different
trees?
