Thanks Tim for the information about James Cattley's family. It's a
bit sad there was no-one to inherit the teddy bear collection but at
least they went to a good home. They were obviously very special to
the family.

The recipient was James Edward Cattley 1857-1942 a member of the Stavan
Catlay of Normanton (1580) family tree who retired back to the UK circa
1910
after running a merchant business in St Petersburg, Russia. He had five
children, all born in Riga or Pernau (Russia) between 1885 and 1893 none
of
who married but remained at 57 Corfton Rd for the rest of their lives, the
last (and eldest child) Maude died in 1983. It is the teddy bear
collection
of these children which is now in the ownership of The Museum of Childhood
in London.
