My sincere thank's to both Pat and Anthony for following up on my query re the '
51 & ' 61 census returns re Benjamin Catly/Catley and in the light of information
provided, Anthony's choice of the word spurious is most fitting.
Well done Pat, I would never have thought to search under Eas or Eat, your lateral
thinking makes me realise that I will need to "up my game" when the time comes
for me to address my "unaccounted" list of Catley names that are collecting as I
complete each ten year set of census returns under Catley/Cattley.
Am now half way through the 1861 census which so far has yielded some 22 queries (the 1851
census produced 47) and am wondering just how many of these will eventually turn out to be
invigilator or transfer errors?
Regards
Tim
