A very interesting article for those researching Yorkshire about the
transcription on Ancestry.

Subject: HULL Mistranscription and Misinterpretation
Hello all,
I am sure that everyone will want to read this report by Pauline Litton.
Most of you will know that Pauline has written many articles and books on
family history research. She has sent me her latest work, a report on the
Yorkshire parish registers now available online, and the various
mistranscriptions, misinterpretations, misleading indexing and downright
mistakes which make the task of finding our ancestors more difficult than
it should be! As this article is a bit too long to post to mailing lists,
I have placed a link to it on the website at
www.yorkshireparishregisters.com. This is the website of the Yorkshire
Archaeological Society, Parish Register Section, of which Pauline is the
Secretary.
Regards,
Janice Wood
