Hello Kay,
Yes please, I would certainly like to have a looksee at these records
especially as the area in question must encompass the Catthley Priory at
Walcot.
From what I recall from Listers inputs (without going to the trouble right
now of digging out files) I think that most Cat*ley records offered so far
are for Lincs Parishes further North, many of them on the immediate southern
shore of the Humber and so it will be interesting to see whats on record
"closer to the Catley seat" as it were.
Have often wondered if it would be worthwhile to do an in depth search in
the Sleaford area to see how far back records go and if there are many
Cat*leys listed in the immediate area. As you probably know, the Priory was
built circa 1143 and struggled on into the 1500's before going under but it
would be interesting to see what names emerge?
Was this site the start of the Cat*ley name? we will probably never know the
answer to that one I suppose. Just how many "Wild Cat Woods" were there,
one wonders?
Can you send the Lafford Deanery Records as an attachment?
Regards to all ............. Tim
