Don't know about the others but Samuel Catley (Brickmaker) is on the 1881
census as born in Halstead, Essex and thus looks to be of the Essex Catleys
that Merv D was investigating.
What a pity that he ceased researches.

Subject: [CAT...] Samuel Catley
Hi All,
You can tell winter is setting in as the list is picking up again.
I have a couple of certs that dont belong to me.
1/ Marriage between Ernest James Catley and Bessie Elizabeth Maggs
25/12/1909 St
John's Waterloo Road London. Father of Ernest is Samuel. Both
Catley's where Brickmakers. Samuel is possable the husband of Emma Millinda
Richer.
2/ Marriage between Ernest Charles Catley and Cecilia Florence
Carpenter
9/9/1933 at St John the Evangilist E Dulwich father Ernest Charles Samuel
Catley. The interesting thing about this marriage is the witness Bessie
Elizabeth Catley. This leads me to believe that she is connected to the 1st
marriage either a grandparent or sister to Ernest Charles.
3/ Marriage between Charles Frederick and Louisa Chamberlain
26/1/1879 St
Philips lambeth father Thomas Catley. On the census RG12/365 it gives
Charles being born in Hull and Louisa born Birmingham they had a daughter
Daisy A age 1 b Lambeth
4/ Marriage between Thomas Catley and Mary Lewis on 13/9/1902 at
Registry
Office Abergavenny Monmouth father Edward Catley.
Any takers
Liz
