I can not speak for others but my clan had one in 1994 at Barnet when a
memorial ceremony and stone unveiling was carried out in recognition of
William Cattley of Barnet who lived in that Town and died there in 1835.
William has a whole genus of (some 70+ included species) of Orchids named
after him (Cattleya) as it was he who introduced the orchid to western
Europe.
We had Cattleys attend not only from the UK but also New Zealand and the
USA.
I think the head count was over 40, not bad for just one family!
As for having a reunion at the site of the Gilbertine Priory:- you do all
realise that it is in the corner of a field and there is not a stone
standing there?
Regards .............. Tim

Subject: [CAT...] Family Reunion
Hi All
I've just seen Kay's message and noted the last comment about a Cat*ley
family reunion and have been wondering for ages whether one has ever been
organised before. Is this something that's been done?
