Hello All,
As you are aware, one of our more recent listers is John Catley (who met Kay Heath with
me on her UK visit a few weeks ago) and he has Lincolnshire Catley roots.
John has always been keen on the history of the Cat*ley Priory both before and after its
decline as a monastic house which includes the commercial production of Seltzer water from
an 80 foot bore hole that was drilled there in Victorian times and operated by The
Sheffield Mineral Water Company.
He tells me that he has landed a scoop by obtaining ten original Catley Abbey Mineral
Water invoices for the period 1891-1894, which are faded at the edges and have a hole in
their centre where they have been filed.
He is quite happy to retain all of them himself but very kindly offers nine of them to
other interested Catley researchers at his cost price of £7.50 each on a first come first
served basis.
JOHN: make that eight available now will you? Because I would like one myself.
Regards Tim
