Yes indeed Kay,
I have this marked down as my primary retirement task!
Yes the University does now own all the artifacts, they being donated by the
executors of Edith Cattley.
Agree that the spelling of the 1549 marriage is interesting as Cattleye in
Latin.
This may well tie in with the spelling of the Lincs Priory which is now
settled as Catley but I have seen records of the Bishops Transcripts circa
1300 written in Latin obviously, where it is recorded as Cattley.
Regards Tim

Hi Tim,
Now there is a nice little retirement task for you, to transcribe and
publish
all those letters of your russian rellies. That will keep you off the
streets.
Does the University OWN all those documents???
I havent had a chance to get back to the Library to keep searching the
Times on line, as we are moving at the moment.. however in a couple of
weeks I hope to have masses of time to get back into the family stuff.
Which has
been neglected of late.
That was a really old marriage that Dave found in 1549.. the spelling of
the
name
as 'Cattleye' was interesting too.. I suppose that was the latin version.
I hope all you poms are enjoying a nice summer.. two good summers in a
row.. my goodness that proves global warming !!!!
