Thanks for the tip. This is just the sort of information I was looking for
and yet another example of how inexact the records are and how things became
muddled quite so easily!
I am looking quite closely at the Anstey Cat*leys at the moment and the
swopping of name spelling from one to the other within this tree is quite a
headache to keep up with.

Have just looked at the Marriages and the entry for 1898 - George
William Cattley
is in fact my grandfather, born and died as George William
Catley, but married as Cattley.
