Hi Liz.
I’ve been working with Tim to try and identify some of the Lancashire and Yorkshire
breakout lines and have had some success in closing one or two outstanding queries in
Lancashire and Leeds.
As a separate exercise of personal interest, I put some effort into looking into the start
of the Garforth line and where it might have started. This turned out to be a good thing
because I identified two previous generations for Robert of Garforth in Ackworth..
Further digging has led me to the conclusion that my line actually starts with Stephen
Catlay in Normanton. Stephen was born in about 1580.
Tim has not yet had time to study what I have done, but he believes that the DNA matching
suggests that such a link is improbable.
He suggested that I ask you if I might have access to the FTDNA results so that we can
better understand why that might be a concern.
Many thanks in anticipation.
John.
