I've been trying to get into Leicester University's online 'Historical
Directories' to see if there is any mention of a Catley Surveyor in
Sussex -
seems to be down for the night, so failing that I tried the online
didital
website for 'The Times' newspapers and found a notice for the sale of some
property at Farilight near to Hastings by Thos. Catley and Son, Surveyors
and
Auctioneers with a referal address for them of Geneva Cottage, near
Hastings.
The edition reference is as follows:

So perhaps you are correct about Benjamin!
