Hello Ted,
Good to see you up and running on CATLEY-L Rootsweb at last and may I bid
you welcome on behalf of all the other listers.
Am not sure exactly how many people are on the list at present but I
estimate there are around some 40 of them who are researching their Cat*ley
ancestry and that includes around three who are looking at their Anstey
roots.
My Cat*ley Anstey Tree records suggest that yours is the only male line
branch that emigrated to Australia but am not sure about the female side?
However, there are few Cat*ley Trees here in the UK where the records do not
indicate that members from each, all had emigrations to Aussie at one time
or another from the 1860's right up to the 1960's and then of course there
are those who can rightly claim originality by arriving as "transportees".
Am not sure as to how many Tree members have settled in WA, I know of
another line apart from yourselves but nodoubt they will come up on line and
make contact direct.
One person who will prove useful to you will doubtless be Mick Catley who is
AU located himself and has specialised in the Hertfordshire+ Cambridgeshire
Cat*leys.
On a more personal note, I have not heard from your David Cattley (Anstey
Tree) for some time, have you?
Regards
Tim Cattley

Hello All,
My name is E R Cattley, I come from the Anstey line.My Grandfather Edward
Charles and his family came from the village of Anstey and my father
Reginald Charles was born in Turnford along with my Grandmother Dorothy
Agnes they left the UK in 1923 for Australia.
For a long time we seemed to be the only Cattleys in Western Australia
that
we new of,now there are nine Catleys in the West.
Are there any Anstey Cat-tleys in Australia I would be pleased to hear
from
you, or from any other Catleys!
Ted.
